On Feb. 13, 1979 Voyager 1 took this
picture of Jupiter and its two satellites. In this picture Io is about 350,000 kilometers or 220,000 miles above Jupiter's
great red spot while in Europe is about 600,00 kilometers just above Jupiter's clouds. In the picture taken from the spacecraft
Jupiter looks to be about 20 million kilometers. There is some evidence of circular motion in Jupiter's atmosphere.
